I accepted, my body thrumming on contact, and I wished we were somewhere else … alone … where I could taste more than just her lips and not have an audience of frat brothers shouting out cat calls, like they were currently doing.
Emma laughed and ducked her head when I broke the kiss and glared over her head at the guys.
“Get back to work!” I shouted, then lowered my voice and said, “Sorry.”
“It’s okay.”
“Maybe you could come over tonight?” I suggested hopefully.
“Sounds good. Will Wes be there?”
I sighed and said, “Probably. Wes is always there. I never realized how annoying it was to have roommates until the last few days.”
“Tell me about it,” Emma agreed with a chuckle.
“I’ve been thinking … with Trixie practically living at our place now, maybe I should look into getting an apartment of my own. Give them some space and me some privacy.”
“That idea may have some merit.”
It really did, and the more I thought about it, the more I wanted to go ahead and do it. And if there was a unit open in our complex, I could still hang out and do the Sunday dinners and game nights with my brothers and their ladies, but still have my own home to go back to.
“I think so too,” I said, brushing a lock of long, dark hair back off of her face. “Is it rash of me to move out and rent a new place just so I can get you alone?”
“Maybe,” Emma said slyly, her eyes on me as she leaned in closer. “But I’m probably not the best person to ask, because I’d give anything to have you all to myself right now.”
A low growl left my throat as I caught her meaning and I suddenly wished the rest of the world would fade away.
“New plan,” I said, holding her closer. “I’ll get us a hotel for the night. I’ll pick you up, we can grab dinner, and then we can have some time … just the two of us.”
When she bit her lip again, her expression contemplative, I worried she’d get the wrong idea and quickly added, “Not for sex … that’s not what I’m saying. I don’t expect you to do anything you’re not ready to do, but I think we could use the time and space to get to know each other without either of our brothers interrupting.”
“Oh, I wasn’t worried about that,” Emma replied. “I was actually thinking we could skip going out for dinner and get room service instead.”
“Yeah, for sure, that sounds great,” I said, getting excited at the prospect.
We moved to head back and join the others, but my mind was sifting through the best hotel options, when Emma squeezed my hand and whispered, “And just so you know, I’m totally hoping there will be sex.”
With that bomb dropped, she let my hand go and hurried inside, leaving me standing behind looking like an ass with my mouth hanging open.

Emma
I was so excited about spending the night with Brody I was waiting outside for him when he pulled up to pick me up.
I’d left Benny upstairs with a smile on his face. He was feeling good after spending a day outside working and catching up with his friends. When I’d first invited him along he’d been hesitant, worried it would be awkward or his old brothers wouldn’t want him around, but that hadn’t been the case at all.
It had been a great day for my brother, and I was looking forward to an even better night for myself!
“Hey, beautiful, want a ride?” Brody asked when he rolled down the window.
He looked sexy with his Ray-Bans on, his hair artfully tousled, and just enough scruff on his face to make him look rugged rather than pretty.
I grinned, opened the door, and hopped inside.
“Hi,” I said, leaning in to give him a quick kiss on the lips.
“Ready?” he asked, that one word having so many different connotations.
I nodded, because I was … ready for everything.
“Then let’s go,” Brody said, his car purring as we drove away.
I don’t know what I was expecting, but when he pulled up to a cool boutique hotel in the center of town, I was pleasantly surprised.
“Oh, I’ve always wanted to check this place out,” I told him, taking in the pretty gas lamps on the exterior of the hotel, before turning to thank the doorman who’d opened the passenger side for me.
We grabbed our overnight bags and went inside to check in, and as I looked around the lobby, I was utterly charmed.
There were large pillars in the center of the room, a curved check-in desk with dark wood finish, floor-to-ceiling bookshelves to the left, and a long bar with blue paneling to the right. Past the bar I could see through the double doors and into the dining room of the restaurant, which had various tables, including picnic tables and square four tops.
There were various lounging areas near the elevator when we got on, and when we got off on the fourth floor.
My fingers itched to touch, and although I knew I’d told Brody we should hang out in the room and order room service, I really wanted to explore the hotel.
“Wow,” I murmured when the bell hop opened our door and ushered us inside.
The interior walls were brick, some bright red, some distressed, and rather than a headboard, there was a large impressionist painting behind the king-sized bed. Separating the bed from the living space were glass panels on either side and the hardwood floors had area rugs in each section.
“I want to live here,” I cooed as Brody tipped the guy who’d brought up our bags and then quietly left us alone. “This place is amazing.”
I peeked my head in the bathroom, grinning at the white subway tiles and large walk-in shower, before skipping over to the living space, looking out the large window, my hands caressing the butter-yellow leather chair.
“Call me crazy, but I love this chair,” I told Brody, loving the softness of it.
“It suits you,” he said.
“The chair?”
“Yeah, it looks like your style. I can imagine you curled up, reading a book.”
I closed my eyes and imagined it.
“That sounds nice,” I replied, then opened my eyes and asked, “Got a book handy?”
Brody chuckled and said, “Sorry, not this time.”
“Bummer.”
“Are you hungry?” he asked and my stomach grumbled in response.
I covered it with my hands and said with a laugh, “Guess so. I didn’t realize how late it was.”
“Yeah, it was a long day,” he agreed as he walked over to the desk and picked up the menu.
Brody handed it to me. I glanced at it and handed it back.
“You know already?”
I nodded and said, “Cheeseburger, no onions, fries, and a chocolate shake.”
“Mmmm, all good choices. Shall I order?”
“Yes, please,” I said, giving him a little bow.
When he moved to pick up the phone, I sat down in my favorite chair and tucked my feet under my butt, picking up the ugly yellow floral accent pillow and hugging it to me tightly.
I love this pillow.
The view out the window was of the park, but the sun was setting so I could only make out a silhouette of the trees.
“Two cheeseburgers, one with no onions, two orders of fries … large, and a couple shakes. One chocolate, one vanilla.”
Once he hung up I glanced over at him and asked, “Vanilla?”
“What’s wrong with vanilla?” Brody asked.
“Um … it’s vanilla,” I replied, as if that explained everything.
“Vanilla is delicious,” he argued.
“Is it though?”
He leaned over and tickled me until I was half out of the chair begging for mercy.
“Just for that, you’re not getting any of my shake,” Brody said.
“Oh, no … whatever will I do?” I asked sarcastically.
We were both laughing when he pulled me in close, his hands resting on the small of my back as I looked up at him.
“
You’re gorgeous,” he said softly and the smile dropped from my lips.
“I believe it when you say it,” I whispered back.
“You should … you should believe everything I say,” he said, his face dipping closer to mine. “Especially about vanilla.”
I laughed and pushed him away, just as a knock sounded on the door.
“Saved by room service,” I joked.

The room was lit only by the corner lamp and I finally had Emma in my arms.
There would be no brothers popping in, or brothers’ girlfriends for that matter. We had the whole night, just the two of us, and I was suddenly extremely nervous.
We were on the bed, Emma wearing a tank top and underwear and me in my boxer briefs.
She was stunning. More so than ever with her long, dark hair strewn over the bed and her cheeks rosy from my kisses.
“You never wear makeup.”
It was an observation; one I’d had before but it had never really registered until now.
Emma shook her head slightly and said, “Only Chapstick or sometimes gloss.”
She didn’t need any, that was for sure, but it seemed funny that I don’t think I’d ever known a female who didn’t wear makeup. Ever.
“Was it a conscious choice, or…?” I asked, running my fingertips over the edge of her jaw.
“I don’t know,” she replied, her hand moving slowly up and down my naked back. “At first I think it was simply an expense I couldn’t afford. And then as I got older it just never interested me.”
“So what do you spend money on? When you’re indulging?” I asked, honestly curious to learn every little thing about her.
“Coffee,” Emma said with a laugh.
“Something over five dollars. Over fifty.”
“Hmmm, probably jewelry. That’s my indulgence. I like shiny things and I guess that’s how I decorate myself … not with makeup, but with trinkets.”
I ran my thumb over her earlobe, which had five earrings adorning the soft flesh, then moved it down the side of her throat and to her chest.
“I’d like to see diamonds here,” I said, tracing the shape of a necklace along her skin.
“Diamonds?”
“Yeah … and here.” I slid down the material of her camisole before bunching it up and lifting it to bare her midriff. “Maybe a little stud.”
“You’d like me to get a belly ring?” she asked, her voice hitching as I lightly caressed her belly, just above her panties.
“It doesn’t have to be real,” I said, bending so I could press my lips against her collar bone.
When my hand moved lower to cup her over the cotton, Emma writhed beneath me, but said with a sharp laugh, “No needles are going down there.”
I chuckled as I played with her and rained kisses over the tops of her breasts.
“How about an emerald-studded thong?”
“How about you wear an emerald-studded thong?” she asked, before thrusting up her hips and shoving her hands in my hair. “Stop talking.”
“Yes, ma’am,” I replied, then busied my mouth with something other than words.
Our playful banter had been just what I needed to dissolve the nerves and focus on what we both wanted.
I moved aside her panties and moaned when I found her wet.
“You’re so fucking perfect,” I managed as I slid my fingers inside her heat.
“Yes … Brody,” Emma groaned, arching against me and tugging my hair tightly.
Encouraged by her response, I moved lower, continuing to work her as my mouth joined the party.
“Off … off,” she cried and I moved out of the way as she ripped the tank top over her head and flung off her panties.
When she laid back on the bed, I took a moment to appreciate her body, gloriously naked before me. And would have continued to do so, but Emma let out a strangled sound and gave me a pointed look.
I grinned at her and got back to business, this time settling between her legs so I’d have better access. Two fingers entered her, fucking her gently at first, as I licked her thoroughly. When she started to thrash and moan, I zoned in on her clit and began to thrust harder and faster.
Emma’s hands found my hair again and this time she pressed me down so tight I had to fight her a little bit in order to breathe.
Still, her enthusiasm turned me way the fuck on and my dick was so hard I worried I wouldn’t be able to make it to the actual act.
I listened to her … not just the sounds of encouragement, but the movements of her body, and when her voice hitched and her hands fisted tightly in my hair, I stayed the course and flicked her clit as fast as my tongue could manage.
When she came with my name on her lips, I felt like fucking Superman.
I moved off the bed to get the condom out of my wallet and pull off my briefs, then joined her back on the bed, once again settling between her legs.
The feel of her wet heat against my cock was enough to make me weep, but as I leaned down to kiss her I asked, “Is this okay?”
Her inky lashes fluttered as her eyes met mine and she gave me a satisfied grin.
It was me … I put that fucking look on her face.
And even if she’d said she no longer wanted to have sex, I would have left that room crowing over putting it there.
“Yes … please,” Emma said, her voice breathy.
Her knees came up and I placed my hand under her supple ass to lift her hips slightly as I pushed inside with one fast thrust.
Holy shit … this is what heaven feels like.
I pressed my lips to hers and kissed her eagerly as I began to move. Slow at first, loving every second, and then deeper and faster as I began to chase heaven.
Maybe I would have felt embarrassed by how quickly I came, if I wasn’t in the middle of a life-changing experience.
Her legs wrapped around me, her tits bouncing as I buried myself to the hilt, and the expression on her face were all the culprits as sweat began to bead across my skin and the base of my spine started to tingle.
“God, Emma,” I managed as I braced myself and moved faster.
“Brody,” she sighed, her breath warm on my neck, and when she sucked my earlobe between her lips, I came so hard I had an out-of-body experience.
Twenty-Three
Emma
Waking up in someone’s arms isn’t something I’ve experienced a lot, but … man, I sure did like it.
Brody’s arm was around my middle and his leg was hitched over mine. I could hear the light sound of him breathing and feel soft tufts of breath on the back of my neck. It was warm, all snuggled up against him, but not uncomfortably so. Just … perfect.
I opened my eyes and smiled.
The sun was shining through the window and I could hear the birds chirping happily outside.
It was a Disney princess kind of moment. If a Disney princess had sex outside of marriage with a handsome playboy who was the complete opposite of anyone she’d ever dated and there were no parents involved. Evil or otherwise.
I chuckled at my train of thought and felt Brody stir behind me.
Wanting to see his face, I shifted to look over my shoulder and something funny fluttered inside my chest at the sight of him. All sweet and innocent in sleep, his mouth opening with a yawn as he stretched, then his eyes popping open when he realized he was wrapped up in me.
A slow, lazy grin moved over his lips as he said, “Morning.”
“Good morning,” I whispered back. “How’d you sleep?”
“So good.”
“Me too,” I replied, turning so I was fully facing him, but slowly, so I didn’t lose body contact.
Unfortunately, the movement made me suddenly and painfully aware that I really, really had to go to the bathroom.
Why was it so embarrassing to excuse myself to go to the bathroom? It wasn’t like I was the only person in the world who peed … we all did it.
I laid there, n
ow stiff as a board as I mentally argued with myself over whether I should simply get up and go silently to the bathroom or excuse myself and make a joke out of it.
“Are you okay?” Brody asked, probably noticing the sudden stiffening of my body.
“Mmm-hmm … yeah,” I lied. “Great.”
“You sure?” he asked, his eyes on my face.
I gave him a tight smile and nodded.
“Okay, well, I need to hit the head. Do you want to order room service again or go down to the restaurant?”
Brody dropped a kiss on my forehead, eased away from me, and got out of bed.
He stood there, waiting for my answer, so I said, “Restaurant.”
I watched him walk away, my eyes on his very fine ass until he disappeared into the bathroom, before throwing back the covers and grabbing my bag so I could hurry into the bathroom as soon as Brody came out.
Thankfully, he was quick, and I was able to go unceremoniously to the restroom without any undue embarrassment.
I took a shower, putting my hair up into a bun rather than going through the hassle of washing it, and was ready to go down to breakfast in ten minutes. When I exited, Brody gave me a sweet kiss before trading places with me, presumably to take a shower himself.
Once we were both clean with our teeth brushed and bladders delightfully empty, we went down to the cool hipster-esque dining room.
“Oh my gosh, this is amazing,” I moaned when I took the first bite of stuffed French toast. “I could eat this every day for the rest of my life.”
Brody chuckled as he ate his obviously much-less-delicious scrambled eggs.
“So, what are you up to today?” he asked.
I took a moment to finish savoring my bite before replying.
“Homework. And I may stop by the garage if I have time, just to make sure Johnny hasn’t messed up my spreadsheets.”
Something crossed over Brody’s face at the mention of Johnny.
So, I wasn’t surprised when he asked, “I know you said he’s an ex, but did he have anything to say about you and me?”
